CAE Fidesys 9.0 Documentation |
For entity of dimension 1D and 2D, it is possible to set conditions convective heat exchange, in which thermal energy is transferred between a solid and the environment (liquid or gas flow):
On the Command Bar, select Mode - Boundary Conditions, Entity - Convection.
Select Action - Create or Action - Modify.
Set the identifier (ID) or name of the set of boundary conditions, specify the entity for which convection is considered, enter the temperature of the medium and the heat transfer coefficient.
Click Apply.
Relevant commands:
create convection [ID] [name <'name'>] [{add | on} {sideset | surface | curve | face | tri | edge} <entity_list>] [surrounding {<value> | top <value> bottom <value>} coefficient {<value> | top <value> bottom <value>}]
modify convection [ID] [name <'name'>] [{add | on} {sideset | surface | curve | face | tri | edge} <entity_list>] [surrounding {<value> | top <value> bottom <value>} coefficient {<value> | top <value> bottom <value>}]
To set the temperature of the environment surrounding the entity in question, the keyword surrounding is used, followed by by entering the corresponding value or values on the upper and lower surfaces shells.
The heat transfer coefficient is set by the key the words coefficient and a specific meaning or values on the upper and lower surfaces of the shell in units: [energy]/([length]*[time]*[temperature]).
