CAE Fidesys 9.0 Documentation |
In CAE Fidesys 9.0, the SLM option has been added based on integration with the IAP RAS computational core.
Selective Laser Melting) - this is an advanced technology of additive manufacturing (3D printing), which allows you to create monolithic metal parts of high strength and complexity by layer-by-layer melting of powder material using a powerful laser. This method is often referred to as "growing" metals, as it allows you to bring to life geometry that cannot be obtained using traditional methods (milling or casting).

The equation of thermal conductivity for liquid and solid phases:

Mixed boundary conditions on the outer borders. A special condition on the movable boundary Г of the phase separation (Stefan's condition), taking into account the specific heat of the phase transition (melting):

λ - specific heat of melting.
When numerically solving the Stefan problem in its classical formulation, it is necessary to explicitly trace the phase boundary. The shapes of the regions of each phase change over time, and their calculation is a separate non-trivial task.
The equation for enthalpy E(x,y,z,t):

Boundary conditions:
Top face z = 0:

On the other faces x = 0, x = a:

Initial conditions:

H(x) - the Heaviside function, β - the heat transfer coefficient, Tm - the melting point, cL, kL - the parameters of the liquid phase.
