The metrics used to evaluate the quality of elements corresponding to mesh edges are presented in Table 1.

Length - the distance between the start and end nodes of an edge.
The command used to evaluate the quality of edge elements accepts element data only, not geometry data.
This metric is currently only available for edge elements. They are generated when splitting curves and surfaces. Such elements are not created when splitting volumes.
