Pressure

The user can set the pressure acting on entity of dimension 1D and 2D. To create or change a previously created pressure, do the following:

These interactive operations correspond to the commands:

create pressure [ID] [name <'name'>] [{add | on} {sideset | surface | curve | face | tri | edge} <entity_list>] [magnitude <value>] [TOP | bottom] [PRESSURE | totalforce]

modify pressure {ID_list | 'name' | all} [name <'name'>] [{add | remove} {sideset | surface | curve | face | tri | edge} <entity_list>] [magnitude <value>] [TOP | bottom] [PRESSURE | totalforce]

The pressure acting in the direction of the faces of the elements is considered positive. It is always oriented normal to the face. For shells and independent surfaces are valid "the rule of the left hand": if the thumb of the left hand is directed towards the surface, and the direction of the bending of the fingers coincides with the direction of numbering the vertices of the element, then the pressure action corresponds to the direction of the thumb.

Pressure value

The pressure value (magnitude) is set using the option magnitude <value>. If the user has not entered a value (<value>), it will be assumed to be zero with the appropriate warning.

Pressure on the upper and lower surfaces

The keyword TOP (by default) indicates, that pressure is applied to the upper surface of the shell element. The keyword bottom means applying pressure to its lower surface.
